- Abstract
- Human brain activities are closely related to both cognitive side and affective domain. Two juxtaposing partners engender human learning processes and learning a foreign language is not an exception. Brain related technologies are developing dramatically in modern times and the use of relevant knowledge can contribute to the successful design of EFL classes in Korea. This study aimed at investigating the effects of English newspapers for improving middle school students' reading ability in the cognitive and affective domains. To achieve this goal, two experimental and control groups were assigned for each gender group and textbook reading material was used for control groups. The effect of reading ability improvement was calculated and also five affective domains(interest, motivation, participation, self-confidence, and self-directed attitude) were examined under the consideration of neuro- educational perspectives.
