- Abstract
- Hydraulic performance of a helical turbine varies with the speed of the influx of the duct. Therefore, in order to find the optimal shape of the duct flow analysis was carried out by using commercial code ANSYS CFX. From CFD analysis results, the optimum position of the duct pipe angle was 25 degrees and the average velocity of turbine inlet increased about 72% compared to the velocity without diffuser and the maximum torque of turbine was about 168.73 Nm, From performance evaluation test using towing tank, the velocity of 1.1m/s in the duct inlet and maximum electric power of 1.49kW were obtained. These experimental results were agreed with numerical results with 10% error range.
