Aime & Scopes

  • Molecular Plant Pathology is published 9 times a year and welcomes submissions from all areas of molecular plant pathology that advance our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of disease or disease management. This includes research on fungi, oomycetes, viruses, nematodes, bacteria, insects, parasitic plants and other organisms. Molecular Plant Pathology is especially interested in manuscripts emphasizing molecular analyses of pathogens, pathogen evolution, determinants affecting host response to plant pathogens or the interaction of both, spanning the host-microbe interaction spectrum from saprophytic to symbiotic interactions. Purely descriptive profiling studies, for example RNAseq or transcriptomics, are not encouraged. Manuscripts of this type should include functional studies and provide mechanistic or novel insights that advance our understanding. Manuscripts that fall outside the scope of the journal will be rejected. In addition to the principal content of full length and short research papers, Molecular Plant Pathology publishes Technical Advances, Reviews and Microreviews, Pathogen Profiles and Opinion Pieces. The journal is dedicated to minimizing the time between submission, review and publication and to providing a high quality forum for original research in molecular plant pathology.
