This paper describes the development of a reusable roller pipe processed using a centrifugal casting method. The rollers used in the production of cold-rolled steel sheets in steel mills are generally manufactured usingthe plate-bending welding method. This process involves bending the steel sheets, welding them, and surfaceinduction hardening, which increases the surface hardness and wear resistance. However, this method resultsin an inconsistent hardness between the welded areas and the base material, leading to a decline in productquality. In contrast, when rollers are manufactured using the centrifugal casting method, there are no weldedareas, ensuring a uniform surface hardness and consistent hardening depth, even after induction hardening andmachining. In particular, by adding carbon and chromium and employing the centrifugal casting method, therollers can achieve a surface hardness of Hs70 or higher and a sufficient hardening depth, ensuring stabilityfor multiple machining processes and reuse.
