Abstract
This article explores to develop eco-friendly wooden products by laser systems, focusing on adapting burnt Paulownia wood by traditional Korean technique. The traditional furniture and instruments such as geomungo and gayaegeum were adopted and created by the technique that takes a long time. And creating a product with the burnt Paulownia wood is very difficult due to handmade one by craftsmanship and by on-off production, as well. So today the technique is not almost used, even if it creates the best products with the eco-friendly materials. Hence, by using the state-of-the-art laser systems made by Universals company in USA, the best eco-friendly wooden products with the Paulownia wood in the world were developed. The systems burned the cut sides of the Paulownia wood evenly, making lots of products at once and speedily. As a result, in the future the systems will be able to develop many kinds of burnt Paulownia wood design and products that we have never thought and seen until now since the method came out in Korea.
