Abstract
In this paper, a printed half bow-tie antenna array with four linear polarization(LP)s for UAV applications is presented. The proposed array consists of four printed half bow-tie antennas in the top substrate, two supports with a tapered balun, and a reflector with the CPW-G feeding network in the bottom substrate. In the feeding network of the proposed array, four ports and two SP3T switches are used to adjust the phase and amplitude with respect to the unit cell antenna. By controlling the switches, the proposed array can be operated on four LP modes. In addition, the printed half bow-tie antenna array improves the beamwidth at the operating frequency band (4.0 to 5.6 GHz). The simulated 10-dB impedance bandwidth, the peak gain, and the HPBW of the proposed array are approximately 31.2% (1590 MHz), 5.6 dBi, and 98.6 degrees, respectively.
