- Abstract
- This paper proposes two novel composite guidance schemes that utilize attitude dynamics to control the look angle and angle of attack (AOA) constraints. The first proposed scheme is a composite guidance law integrated with the look angle control, designed to account for the field-of-view (FOV) limitation of the seeker. It is formulated by considering the actual look angle between the missile's longitudinal axis and the target direction, without the conventional small AOA assumption. The second scheme introduces an AOA control guidance law that can directly control the terminal AOA to maximize the warhead effectiveness of an aerodynamically controlled missile. This AOA guidance law is integrated with a general impact angle control guidance law to form the composite guidance scheme. Both proposed composite guidance schemes follow a similar sequence: they execute an initial guidance phase after launch, transition to the terminal guidance phase upon satisfying specific flight conditions, and finally attack the target at the desired impact angle. The characteristics and performance of the proposed guidance laws are verified through simulations under various engagement conditions.
