Abstract
In the present study, the effects of deformation velocity on the springback behavior in U-draw bending of DP780 and TRIP780 steel sheets using a digital servo-press were analyzed. Although the materials were not highly strain rate sensitive, the experimental results showed that the effect of deformation velocity on springback is significant. It was also shown that the sliding velocity had an influence on the friction coefficient. To analyze the results, finite element simulations were performed with considering the effect of deformation rate and friction. The results showed that the strain rate had a minor influence on the amount of springback. However, the changes in friction coefficient were able to capture the influence of deformation velocity on springback. © 2012 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
