- Abstract
- This paper introduces a novel design for a single-layer reflectarray antenna (RAA). The elements of the proposed RAA employ a variable rotation technique (VRT) to achieve circular polarization with wide bandwidth and high-gain performance. Each unit cell in the array is assigned a specific rotation angle to achieve the required phase delay. To further enhance performance, the RAA is center-fed by a wideband, dual-circularly polarized corrugated horn antenna. The main beam direction is set at θ = −20◦, and an f/D focal ratio of 1.2375 is chosen to maximize the aperture efficiency. A proposed RAA, sized at 14.34 cm × 14.34 cm with 37 × 37 elements, is simulated using CST MWS. This RAA exhibits a simulated maximum antenna gain of 29.06 dBi at 25 GHz. © 2024 IEEE.
