| dc.description.abstract | How to Measure Intercultural Morality Abstract: This study explores a method for measuring and testing hypotheses on the heterogeneous morality established as the foundation of culture. In depicting the relationship between culture and morality, R. Shweder categorizes the types of morality that operate behind cultural practices, while J. Haidt identifies the moral modules that influence these types of morality. These researches contribute to overcoming the dualism between culture and morality and explaining conflicts between cultures within a dimension of heterogeneous morality. However, the methods employed by Shweder and Haidt for exploring the morality that connects with culture have limitations regarding the validity of their measurements. These shortcomings can be addressed by incorporating patterns related to the degree of preference for moral reasons. This solution is realized through the ‘Korean-style Intercultural Morality Test (KIMT)’ tool and a measurement algorithm that applies the principles of analysis of variance. Based on this algorithm, the ‘Intercultural Morality Internalization Pattern (IMIP-Index)’ can be derived. | - |
