데리다의 ‘차이와 지연’에 기반한 대학 작문 분석

Abstract

이 연구에서는 글쓰기에서 학습자가 의미를 도출하는 과정에 주목하고자 하였다. 이를 이해 글을 쓰는 행위는 물론 글쓰기 자체를 하나의 의미 생성 장으로 보았다.경상국립대학교 1학년 학습자를 대상으로 마이클 샌델의 ‘정의란 무엇인가?’ 속 비슷한맥락을 가진 3가지의 선택 문제를 제출하여 그 작문을 분석하였다.데리다의 차연 개념에서 ‘차이와 지연’을 활용하여 의미 차이가 나게 만드는 작동과정을 살펴보았다. 학습자들의 제출물을 세 문제 모두에 같은 대답을 한 경우,2번과 3번에 같은 대답을 한 경우,세 문제 각각을 다른 문제로 판단하고 접근한 경우의 세 가지로 나누어 분류하였다.이후 각 작문에서 어떻게 ‘차이와 지연’을 읽어낼 수 있는지 그것이 어떤 교육적,학술적 의미를 가질 수 있는지를 해독해 보았다. 같은 지향을 보이는 선택이라 하여도 학습자는 각각 다른 이유와 양상을 보여주었다.이는 그 자체로 텍스트가 하나의 고정된 실체가 아니라 끝없이 유동적으로 변화하는 생성적 장이 될 수 있다는 것을 보여주는 것으로 분석될 수 있었다.이 연구에 기반하여 주체적이고 능동적인 필자로서의 학습자를 목표로 학습 및 교수 전략을 수립해볼 수 있을 것이다.

This paper aims to analyze the process in which learners derive meaning from writing. Considering the act of writing as well as the act of writing itself as the process of generating meaning field, the compositions of first-year university learners under the three questions with a similar context in Michael Sandel’s “What is justice?” are analyzed. For the detailed analysis, Difference and Deferral from Derrida is applied. Compositions are classified as; first, the same answer to all three questions, second, the same answer on the two questions, third, each of answers on the three questions. Learners showed different reasons and patterns even if they were choices with the same orientation. It could be analyzed that text in itself can not be a fixed entity, but a becoming field that changes endlessly. Based on this study, learning and teaching strategies can be established with the goal of learners as independent and active writers.
