Environmental Ethics: A Case Study of Yellow River Yi Li,* Qidan Wang,** & Gyunyeol Park*** Abstract: This article aims to explain the past and current situation of the ecological environment protection of the Yellow River through a literature review and analyzes the problems and reasons in four aspects: government responsibilities, corporate values, guidance of public opinion, and general cognition. First, incomplete laws and the lack of regulation make it difficult for the government to fulfill its duty to protect the Yellow River. Second, the development concept of enterprises based on economic value makes them ignore social responsibility. Third, the false reports of the media have reduced the role of public opinion in ecological protection. Fourth, citizens’ lack of awareness of ecological protection makes it difficult to carry out ecological protection work. Due to it, this research suggests that four solutions. First of all, as the leader in the ecological protection of the Yellow River, the government should give full play to its corresponding role, including formulating policies, improving laws, and improving supervision capabilities. Second, enterprises need to strengthen cultural construction and balance the relationship between economic benefits and ecological protection. Third, public opinion needs to actively guide the public to correctly understand the ecological protection of the Yellow River, the status quo of the Yellow River Basin, and the ecological culture of the Yellow River. Fourth, the public needs to receive more moral education so as to improve the awareness of natural ecological protection.
