Abstract
In this study, we analyzed the vibration modes of a swash plate piston pump used in marine engine hydraulic systems through finite element analysis (FEM) to examine the resonance during operation. These findings were corroborated by experimental modal analysis (EMA). The analysis of the vibration modes using the finite element model of the pump established that the resonant vibration characteristics are absent within the pump's rotational speed range. In particular, the frequency response during harmonic excitation forces between the piston and the cylinder block was examined, confirming the absence of resonance within the operational speed range. The vibration modes identified through EMA were compared with those predicted by FEM. This comparison revealed that the natural frequencies and vibration modes closely matched, thereby validating the reliability of the vibration analysis.
