- Abstract
- Ecofriendly policies have led to a continuous increase in the supply of electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage systems (ESSs). Therefore, technologies for reusing and remanufacturing used EV batteries must be developed. Although the lifespan characteristics of EV battery packs may vary according to the conditions of use, their range of use is usually 100%–80%, considering the performance output based on EV standards. When used as ESSs, they may be used for an additional 5–10 years. In this study, we analyzed the electrical characteristics of used battery modules to classify the reuse of used EV batteries. The used battery modules of an electric bus with operation records were utilized in this study. For the electrical characteristics, used battery module’s voltage, internal resistance, and charge-discharge tests were conducted.
