- Abstract
- Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) perform a vital function in flat-panel displays and solid-state lighting. Herein, a simple structured donor-acceptor based organic light-emitting material (OLEM), 6-(4-(di ([1,1′-biphenyl]-4-yl)amino)phenyl)nicotinonitrile (PTPA-NN), has been prepared and applied as emissive layer in OLEDs. This OLEM has a slightly twisted structure, which enhances its thermal stability. Interestingly, a device consisting of PTPA-NN OLEM demonstrated a promising performance showing a turn-on voltage of 3.8 V with a current efficiency of 9.7 cd/A, external-quantum-efficiency of 4.17% and power efficiency of 8.0 lm/W. Small molecular simple-structured nicotinonitrile based material provide an effective strategy to discover suitable OLEMs for sky-blue OLEDs. © 2023
