- Abstract
- Additive manufacturing is a technology in which a layer is processed while stacking materials. Compared to cutting, this process allows for an easier way of manufacturing shapes, such as cavities or lattice structures. When a latticestructure is utilized in a mechanical component production process in which the additive manufacturing process isapplied, it is possible to reduce the weight of the components as well as the production materials and time. In thisstudy, metal additive manufacturing and lattice structure were utilized to manufacture lightweight paddle grips forcanoeing, and the weights and processing times of the mechanical parts were measured and compared.
