dc.description.abstractIn this paper, the mechanism design of an electric two-finger gripper that grabs objects with a length of up to 150 mm by using electric force is presented. The mechanical device of the electric gripper operates an actuator, and the two gripper plates move in parallel to grab the object. The controller controls the current supplied to the motor drive to determine and control the gripper’s gripping force. The mechanism of the electric two-finger gripper was modeled and designed by performing a structural analysis. The experimental results of the mechanical device of the electric two-finger gripper revealed that it can hold objects with a length of up to 150 mm.-
