- Abstract
- In this paper, an Omni-directional wideband rectangular patch array antenna (RPAA) is proposed for lower 5G communication. The proposed antenna is compact in size of 25 × 35 × 0.79mm3. Rogers RT 5880 (2.2, 0.0009) has been chosen for substrate material. The radiation pattern of the wideband antenna is Omni-directional i.e. it radiates power all around it and it also covers a suitable wide bandwidth of 1.3259 GHz for lower 5G applications ranging from 3.1769 GHz to 4.5028 GHz with resonant frequency of 3.74 GHz. The return loss at the centre operating point is below -30 dB. The maximum attained gain is 2.8575 dB with maximum directivity of 2.957 dBi. It shows the VSWR of 1.0639 with an excellent maximum radiation efficiency of 97.6% and average radiation efficiency of 95% within the wide operating bandwidth. In 5G wireless communication systems, the antenna may contribute a good role for it's wide bandwidth with omni-directional radiation characteristics. ? 2021 IEEE.
