- Abstract
- A slotted microstrip patch array antenna which operates from 2.336 GHz to 2.7772 GHz is presented in this paper. This operating frequency range covers 2.4 GHz WiFi/Bluetooth/Zigbee (2.407 GHz - 2.484 GHz) wireless applications. The WiFi, bluetooth and Zigbee applications share the 2.4 GHz spectrum of the Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) radio band. The antenna is designed on Rogers RT 5880 (lossy) substrate (2.2, 0.0009) and the height of the substrate is 0.79 mm with an area of 38 x 36 mm2. It provides maximum gain of 2.82 dB and directivity of 2.87 dBi. It yields a good reflection coefficient of -42.17 dB and VSWR of 1.0157 at the resonant frequency of 2.544 GHz. The average radiation efficiency of the array antenna is quite high which is around 92% and it has never gone below 88% within the operating frequency band. Thus, it may be potentially feasible for WiFi / Bluetooth / Zigbee communication applications. ? 2021 IEEE.
