- Abstract
- In signal processing, sonar, radar, seismic waves, and radio waves, time delay estimation (TDE) has long been studied. This work employs the Matrix Pencil Method to recover super-resolution Time Delay Estimation (TDE) of signals in multi-path situations (MPM). To test the novel strategy, errors were measured and compared to the classical Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) and cross-correlation approaches. TDE performance in a multi-channel context is examined using numerical simulations that demonstrate varied values of mean square errors versus signal to noise ratio with separation.. The suggested super-resolution MPM methodology improves earlier approaches by precisely identifying and measuring all components to their resolution limits and addressing closely spaced frequencies. © 2022 IEEE.
