Abstract
A clear coat maintains the unique color of the exterior of a car for a long time, protects it from various external contaminants, and has excellent gloss. It also functionally protects the base color coat and blocks the discoloration caused by ultraviolet (UV) rays. Car polishing involves the usage of a compound to correct and repair defects in a clear coat. When a compound is applied to the polishing pad and friction is generated on the defective portion through the polishing machine, the abrasive component in the compound corrects the defective portion. However, excessive polishing generates a haze effect owing to ultraviolet rays or automobile cleaners. In addition, polishing using standard compounds usually results in significant film loss. The effect on the paint during vehicle maintenance was systematically tested by applying the satternium compound attached to the clear coat during vehicle painting and polishing.
