- Abstract
- This study focuses on the influence of the lift coefficient according to a hump size on the fixed wing surface, which is nature-inspired by the pectoral fin hump of a humpback. This type of shape can prevent peeling from the fixed wing surface by an effect similar to that of a vortex-generating device. Fixed-wing modeling was conducted as a shape similar to the pectoral fin of humpback whales. The lift coefficient for five candidate models was then compared by changing the hump size. The vortex-generating phenomenon was calculated by employing the LES Smagorinsky Lily model based on the sub-grid scale (SGS) method. The finding of this research is that turbulence was estimated to be caused by the velocity profile of the fixed wing width direction of the hump. Furthermore, based on the influence result of the relationship between the hump size and the lift coefficient, the optimal hump size can be designed.
