Abstract
In this study, an automatic electric motor joint inspection equipment is developed to determine good anddefective motor products by directly measuring the electric motor joint of the steering system for automobiles. Subsequently, a spectrum analysis is conducted to confirm the noise and vibration characteristics of electricmotor joint defects. Sound pressure, loudness, roughness, and sharpness analyses are performed, and the resultsshow that the sound pressure, loudness, roughness, and sharpness values differ based on the type of electricmotor defect. The automatic inspection equipment developed in this study verifies that the presence or absenceof defects in the electric motor and the defect type can be indirectly predicted.
