- Abstract
- This paper analyzes changes in the diversity of consumers' food demand over time and the factors to affect the level of food demand diversity across households. The number of food item purchased, Berry index and entropy index were used as the index to measure food expenditure diversity. The results indicate that (i)the level of food expenditure diversity has been decreased over time, and (ii)the food expenditure diversity increases with the level of household income, whereas it has been increased until the age of household head is 49 years old, but after that it has been decreased.
