- Abstract
- A planar monopole antenna array with partial ground plane and slots is designed for Sub-6 GHz applications. In this two element array antenna, each square element is symmetrically arranged along the horizontal direction and slotted on its two sides. The input impedance of the proposed antenna element is matched to 50 Ω and the antenna dimension is 33 × 40 × 0.79 mm3 mounted on Rogers RT 5880. The impact of array instead of single element antenna and influence of slots on reflection coefficient are also studied in this work. The planar monopole antenna array covers Sub-6 GHz applications having the frequency range of 3.30 - 4.72 GHz. The antenna is operated at 3.90 GHz. The maximum gain and the maximum directivity of the presented antenna are 3.30 dB and 3.45 dBi respectively. The reflection coefficient of the planar monopole antenna array is -68.69 dB having a VSWR of 1.0007 at 3.90 GHz. It provides a radiation pattern with 96% efficiency. Thus it fits for use in wireless 5G devices in Sub-6 GHz bands. ? 2022 IEEE.
