- Abstract
- The ICC introduced the first version of Incoterms, short for "International Commercial Terms," in 1936. Incoterms have been revised seven times in order to reflect international trade developments. The Incoterms 2010 will be the eighth revision of Incoterms.
The Incoterms 2010 rules take account of the continued spread of customs-free zones, the increased use of electronic communications in business transactions, heightened concern about security in the movements of goods and changes in transport and insurance practices.
The Incoterms 2010 rules are the first version of the Incoterms rules since the revision of the Institute Cargo Clauses(ICC) and take account of alterations made to those clauses.
