Abstract
The distributed computing systems have grown to a large scale having different applications such as, grid computing and cloud computing systems. It is important to model the architectures of large scale distributed computing systems in order to ensure stable dynamics of the computing systems as well as the reliability and performance. In general. the discrete event dynamical systems formalism is employed to construct the models of different dynamical systems. This paper proposes the constructions of models of distributed computing systems employing two different formalisms such as, discrete event dynamical systems and discrete dynamical systems. A comparative analysis illustrates that the discrete dynamical systems based model of distributed computing systems can be very effective to design and analyze the distributed computing architectures.
