Abstract
The purpose of this study was to assess the difference and correlations of physical fitness, body composition and eating habits by PEI grade of male middle school students. A analysis was conducted for determining PEI grade, fitness, body composition, eating habits. 459 male middle school students were divided into “1th grade”,“2th grade” and “3th grade” based on physical efficiency index(PEI). The physical fitness test was performed using the following items: 50 m run, grip strength, trunk flexion. The body composition was assessed with the Inbody 330(biospace). Check items was body mass index(BMI), %fat, muscle mass(MM). PEI was assessed with the Xcoach(apex), checking for heart rate. Eating habits was using the questionnaire, this is composed by three sub facts(regular dietary life, balanced dietary life, dietary life & health). In physical fitness, only 50 m run showed significantly difference between 1,2 th grade and 3th grade. In body composition, BMI and %fat showed high grade group as low figure, muscle mass showed high grade group as high figure. The figure showed significantly difference between groups. In Eating habits high grade group as high figure, this showed significantly difference between groups. There were also an investigated relationships among PEI grade and physical fitness, body composition, eating habits. In the analysis of regression, PEI was affected by %fat, dietary life & health, grip strength.
