연계성에 따른 지방 광역도시권의 설정과 발전 방향

Abstract

This study is aimed to suggest development direction for the four local metropolitan areas (City-Region). For practical analysis, this study established the spatial boundaries of 4 'City-Regions', Busan, Daegu, Daejeon and Gwangju based on the analysis of three connectivity indices, which are inter-regional commuting and migration data as demographic indices and volume of cargo data as an industrial index. Then each City-Region was investigated the changing trend of connectivity between 2000 and 2005. As results, it was found that the spatial extent of City-Region had expanded for 5 years in all the four City-Regions. Moreover industrial connectivity has been enhanced except Daejeon City-Region though demographic connectivity had not been increased so much in all cases. From this it may conclude that Busan City-Region need to strengthen the regional connectivity and governance among cities located in a same City-Region. On the other hand, Daegu, Daejeon and Gwangju put policy priority on enhancing infrastructure level and economic competitiveness of hub city and neighboring cities.
