Abstract
By 2026, Korea is expected to be an super-aged society, age group of 65 and older being over 20.8% of the total population, considering their rapid increase today. The purpose of this study was to clarify the recognition and needs of middle-aged peoples about their outlook on aging and long-term care facilities for elderly. A survey questionnaire by 260 adults from 45 to 64 years of ages living in Jinju City was used to collect the data. They were asked the physical and economic status of their elderly life and the needs for the elderly facilities. The results are as follows; a majority of respondents 1) perceived that the responsibility was theirs for making arrangements for their future and housing, 2) didn't have negative stereotypes of those facilities, 3)perceived the facilities would provide a systematic care service and should include user-paid medical facilities and that it should be available for middle and high-class elderly.
