- Abstract
- 영산읍성은 창녕군 영산면 성내리에 위치해 있으며, 읍성의 성벽에 사용된 암석 부재를 대상으로 암석학적 연구를 실시하고 산지추정을 함으로써 복원을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하고자 한다. 성벽의 암석 부재는 주로 안산암류, 화강암류, 퇴적암류로 구성되어 있음이 밝혀졌다. 잔존 성벽의 경우 복원 구간을 제외하고 대부분의 구간에서 안산암류가 우세하게 나타나지만, 복원 구간에서는 화강암류가 우세하게 나타난다. 안산암류의 원산지는 대부분 작약산 안산암으로 판단되고, 일부 주산 안산암이 발견된다. 화강암류 중 보존되어 있는 원래 암석의 산지는 인근 지역의 화강반암 암체로 판단되나, 복원에 사용된 된 암석은 이와 다르게 흑운모 화강암으로 나타났다. 퇴적암류의 산지는 읍성 주변에 분포하는 퇴적암 지층으로, 대부분 열변성을 받아 혼펠스화 되어있다.
