- Abstract
- Mixed-Use Development has recently been used as an important method in a bid for Urban Revitalization. Mixed-Use Developments as private projects provide the public spaces which are key elements in Urban Revitalization. However, the public spaces in the Mixed-Use Developments mainly appear as exterior open spaces in domestic projects. Recently, there are a few studies on architectural design elements of the indoor public space since the necessity of the space has been recognized. Thus, this research proposes 'Accessibility', 'Openness', 'Connectivity' as architectural design elements for publicity of the indoor public spaces in Mixed-Use Facilities. The design elements have been analysed and characterized with international outstanding precedents of indoor public spaces in Mixed-Use Facilities. The purpose of this study is to be provided as an important guideline in architectural design process for publicity of indoor public spaces in Mixed-Use Facilities.
