- Abstract
- From feasibility or design phase of construction project, it is very important to estimate project cost accurately. In the early stage of construction project, there is not enough time and information of design, quantity and cost data, and it is very difficult to make accurate cost estimate. In order to predict accurate project cost without enough project information, historical cost database and quick calculation method to quantify the size and quantity of current project design are required. Currently, BIM(Building Information Modeling) can be useful to estimate them. however, it is required to do preliminary cost estimate in early stage with simple model and minimum effort. In order for this, we tried to develop the prototype system of BIM based preliminary estimate using building elements combination database.
