- The Journal of Poultry Science (JPS), an official international journal published quarterly by the Japan Poultry Science Association (JPSA), was first issued in 1964 as the Japanese Poultry Science. JPS welcomes original articles that contain the results of fundamental and applied researches in the area of genetics and breeding, nutrition and feed, anatomy and histology, reproduction, management and hygiene, general physiology, and processing and products. Articles published in JPS typically cover valuable researches on domestic fowls, but we welcome research outcomes on wild birds that address to solve fundamental questions in the field of poultry science. JPS publishes following three types of articles. Full papers: The relevant background, experimental designs and methods, results and discussion should be logically presented, and novel findings must be included. Research notes: The experimental results that contain novel findings but may represent less comprehensive research outcomes. The relevant background, experimental designs and methods, results and discussion should be logically presented in compact. Review articles: The contributors of review articles are invited based on the recommendation of the editorial board. Four issues of JPS will be published each year through an on-line J-STAGE system operated by the Japan Science and Technology Agency.
