경제지리 교육을 위한 장소기반 학습(PBL) 답사 코스 개발: 경남 항공산업 클러스터를 사례로

This study developed a fieldwork program applying a Place-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance the effectiveness of economic geography education. Specifically, this research selected the Gyeongnam Aerospace Industry Cluster as a case region and structured a curriculum that enables learners to directly experience and understand how abstract economic geography concepts―such as clusters, global value chains (GVC), and regional innovation systems (RIS)―operate in real-world spaces. Based on Kolb’s (1984) experiential learning cycle, the overall course was designed to facilitate a cyclical process of pre-learning, fieldwork, and post-activity reflection. Furthermore, to ensure practical applicability, the program was divided into a ‘Basic Course’ for secondary education students and an ‘Advanced Course’ for university students, reflecting varying learner levels. Ultimately, this study is significant as it diversifies the scope of economic geography education by discovering high-tech industrial clusters as new fieldwork resources, providing a practical framework for utilizing regional industrial assets as meaningful educational content.
