Topology Optimizatin of Plate Structures using Isogeometric Concept

초록

The application of computer-aided geometric design (CAGD) to topology optimization of plate structures is carried out within the frameworkof isogeometric analysis (IGA). Non-uniform rational B-splines (NURBS) are used to represent both the geometry of the plate and the fieldvariables used in the formulation of isogeometric plate element. By incorporating the Reissner-Mindlin assumption into the formulation of theisogeometric plate element, the proposed topology optimization approach can effectively handle both thin and thick plates. A material updatingscheme based on the optimality criterion method is devised to redistribute the plate material according to the control point-wise densityvalues as design variables. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed topology optimisation procedure is very effective in identifying theoptimal material distribution in plate structures.
