근대 전환기 강우(江右) 지역 성재학파(性齋學派) 연구: 강회(講會)를 중심으로 한 강학 활동의 재구성

This article examines the scholarly activities and lecture assemblies (ganghoe, 講會) of the Seongjae School (性齋學派) in the Gangwoo region during Korea’s transitional period to modernity. By focusing on the academic practices and intellectual exchanges of Heo Jeon (許傳) and his disciples, the article clarifies how these networks deepened internal solidarity and reinforced cohesion through ganghoe. In this context, ganghoe functioned not merely as occasions for scholastic debate but as central mechanisms for sharing intellectual identity and disseminating Confucian orientations. Furthermore, beyond the pedagogical role of a particular school, ganghoe provided a foundational platform through which the regional Confucian community linked scholarship with pressing social concerns and forged intellectual solidarity. By analyzing the concrete development of major ganghoe, this article recontextualizes their historical significance in the Gangwoo region, highlighting both the continuity and regional particularities of Confucianism in late Joseon, and showing how Confucian communities sought to shape and reconstruct their identity in the face of socio-historical transformation.
