초록

This study attempts to discuss the poetry of resistance and liberation revealed in Ko Jung-hee through ‘parrhesia’ and ‘heterotopia’. If Parrhesia courageously ‘speaks’ the truth, heterotopia is an alternative ‘place’ that challenges the existing order, and the two concepts are expected to enable a complex discussion of historical perception and sensitivity to the times. In that respect, Ko Jung-hee poetry, in which the two concepts closely interact, is also a record of struggle and resistance that has endured an era. Discursive spaces of literature and poetry, from physical places such as “Dining Table” and “Jiri Mountain” revealed in his poems, to “Madang-gut” and “Women's Liberation Space,” are anti-opposition to the absurd reality and where the “Parresia” of the poetic subject is realized. These places are highlighted as typical places for life recovery and self-care, where women “resist” from the customs of the patriarchal society and “confess” and heal their oppression and wounds, and “self-reflection” coexist harmoniously with nature. As such, ‘parrhesia’ and ‘heterotopia’ revealed in Ko Jeong-hee's poem, where people, women, and lyricism were fierce, are also important poetic devices that expand the possibility of coexistence with others beyond the relationship between language (speech) and place (space). It is also read as the poet's will not give up the possibility until the end, imagining beyond reality through the courage of the subjects who speak the truth. Furthermore, we require us to continue to reflect on the possibility of hope and solidarity beyond the pain and despair of this reality. In addition, we ask what kind of space we should dream of now and with what courage will we face this absurd reality. By doing so, we ask anew whether the ‘spirit of poetry’, which does not remain silent and resist injustice and oppression, is still valid in this era.
