경남 통영 조간대에 서식하는 세줄베도라치 (Ernogrammus hexagrammus)의 산란생태 및 초기생활사

초록

This study investigated the spawning ecology and early life history of the six-lined prickleback, Ernogrammus hexagrammus, in the intertidal zone of Tongyeong, Korea. The field survey was conducted at low tide at six sites from January 17 to May 5, 2025. Collected egg masses were reared under laboratory conditions to observe embryonic development and larval morphological development. During the field surveys conducted from January 30 to March 16, a total of 10 egg masses were recorded exclusively at two sites characterized as rocky intertidal habitats, out of the six sites surveyed. Water temperature at spawning sites ranged from 6.0°C to 13.0°C (mean 9.3°C). Egg masses were found under rocks and were attended by adult fish. The number of eggs per mass ranged from 960 to 3,206 (mean 1,904±820, n=9). Egg diameters were 2.0~2.2 mm (2.1±0.1 mm) excluding adhesive prominences and 2.1~2.4 mm (2.3±0.1 mm) including them. Embryonic development proceeded from the blastula stage to optic vesicle formation and melanophore deposition. Hatching occurred 527 hours at 11.9°C. Newly hatched larvae measured 8.4±0.6 mm in total length (range: 7.3~9.5 mm, n=11), with an open mouth and anus, and small amounts of yolk and oil globule remaining.
