Study on Differentiation Patterns of Korean Labor Poetry(2): - Focusing on the Haebang Geulteo Literary Group Anthologies

초록

This thesis analyzes the differentiation patterns of Korean labor poetry in the 2000s, focusing on five poetry anthologies published by the Haebang Geulteo literary group. The most remarkable feature of the poetry is that it directly voices criticism of labor unions. Labor unions can be considered the front line and the last bastion for protecting workers’ rights and interests. However, the text clearly reveals through workers’ voices that trust in labor unions is crumbling. This implies that workers’ attitudes and perspectives toward labor unions are changing. The members of the Haebang Geulteo remember and document the workers sacrificed in industrial accidents. Non-regular workers forced into poor working conditions face discrimination not only in wages but also in work site conditions. Non-regular workers laboring in relatively hazardous workplaces are constantly exposed to the threat of losing their lives, and indeed, many workers lose their lives. The members of Haebang Geulteo have not overlooked, but rather captured, these tragic realities. They actively call out workers who could be called the ghosts of the work site-such as non-regular (office) workers, female workers, and foreign workers. It is particularly noteworthy that the voices of white-collar, non-regular office workers are represented in the texts. This can serve as direct evidence of the expansion of the horizon of labor poetry.
