노후소득보장제도의 유형별 급여수준과 노인의 생활만족도의 관계 : 자아존중감의 매개효과를 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effect of self-esteem in the relationship between the benefit of the income security type and the elderly’s life satisfaction. This study utilizes SPSS 25.0 and Hayes’ PROCESS 4.3.1., using the 18th data from the Korean Welfare Panel. The results of this study are as follows. First, the benefit of the social insurance is positively associated with the life satisfaction of recipients through self-esteem. Second, the benefit of the basic pension is not significantly associated with the self-esteem of the elderly. Third, the benefit of the public assistance is negatively associated with the self-esteem and the life satisfaction of the elderly. This study suggests that it is necessary to consider the self-esteem of recipients of the income security system in order to improve the life satisfaction of the elderly.
