Factors Influencing Stroke Prevention Behaviors in Middle-Aged Women

Objective: To identify the factors influencing stroke prevention behaviors knowledge, illness attitude, and disease phobia onstroke prevention behaviors in middle-aged women. Methods: This study was a descriptive survey study conducted in Korea from June to July 2025 using a structured questionnaire. The study participants were 121 middle-aged women with no history of stroke. The collected data were analyzed usinghierarchical regression analysis, independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Scheffé test, hierarchicalmultiple regression analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient, and SPSS/WIN 27.0. Results: There were statistically significant differences in stroke prevention behaviors according to education level, economicstatus, and whether stroke prevention education was received. Factors affecting stroke prevention behavior included educationlevel, economic status, whether stroke prevention education was received, and disease phobia, and these variables explained18.9% of the variance in stroke prevention behaviors. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, in order to enhance stroke prevention behaviors in middle-aged women, the goalshould be to develop intervention programs that take into account the participants' education level, economic status, and fear ofdisease.
