In this paper, the design and analysis of the Nonoverlapping Winding Synchronous Reluctance Motor (NWSyncRM) is presented. The proposed SyncRM is equipped with doublelayer Nonoverlapping Winding (NW). The proposed design consists of 2 × 12 slots and 4 magnetic poles. A comprehensive analysis of 9 different models (M1-M9) with various rotor cage bar placement configurations alongside their impact on electromagnetic performance is presented in this paper. Furthermore, the impact of rotor cage bar design on the performance of the proposed machine is studied. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is carried out to verify the electromagnetic performance of the designs. Keeping the same electrical loading for comparison the results show that model (M1) with rotor cage bars placed on the outer sides of the flux barriers produced maximum torque but was prone to high cage bar losses. Among all other models, (M4) was the most efficient model producing 7.8 kW of output power with the lowest cage bar losses among all other models and a high efficiency of 91.46% making it suitable for constant-speed high-power application while focusing energy conservation.
