The Role of Aids to Navigation and Deriving Core Tasks for Establishing a Smart Maritime Logistics System

This study aims to identify the current status and trends in smart maritime logistics systems and port smartization at home and abroad; understand the contents of the government’s strategy and policy stance for the establishment of smart maritime logistics; and finally derive strategic tasks for the enhancement of the role of aids to navigation (AtoN) in the smart maritime logistics systems. As a result of the study, I derived tasks such as developing a ship fuel detection technology based on AtoN for building an environmentally friendly smart port; developing a smart maritime shipping route selection system and building a big data platform by acquiring real-time maritime information based on AtoN; and establishing a smart AtoN monitoring system for safe operation of small and vulnerable fishing vessels.
