애정전기소설 기녀 인물의 서사 위치와 결말 유형 연구—<월단단>·<주생전>·<옥단춘전>을 중심으로—

This study investigates the narrative agency and structural positions of ginyeo (female entertainers) in love-based Jeongi novels, focusing on Woldandan, Jusaengjeon, and Okdanchunjeon. Rather than treating ginyeo as marginal figures defined by morality or emotional sincerity, the analysis reveals their active roles in relationship formation, conflict mediation, and narrative conclusion. The comparative approach identifies three distinct ending modalities—postponement or interruption, voluntary withdrawal, and formal approval—each shaped by unique structural conditions such as the possibility of maintaining the relationship, external mediation, and institutional support. Findings indicate that the narrative outcome for ginyeo figures is determined less by personal virtue than by the approval mechanisms embedded in each text. This perspective reframes ginyeo agency as a structural pivot in the plot, foregrounding how love-based Jeongi novels negotiate the inclusion, exclusion, and agency of lower-class women through narrative practice. The study thus proposes a new framework for understanding relational structures and approval conditions as key determinants of narrative agency for ginyeo figures.
