왕안석 노장관의 일관적 해석에 관한 고찰 - 유가-도가 관계를 중심으로 -

초록

This study aims to analyze the structure of Wang An-shi’s perspectives on Taoism in relation to Confucianism. Previous studies did not fully explain the positivity and negativity of Wang An-shi’s perspectives on Taoism. This can lead to a problem of consistency in Wang An-shi’s interpretation of the Laozi and Zhuangzi. Accordingly, this study reexamined the composition of Wang An-shi’s understanding of the Laozi and Zhuangzi in the context of the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism. In addition, the possibility of consistent interpretation was identified in the following three contexts. First, Wang An-shi read the Laozi and Zhuangzi’s Tao based on relationship between the root and the end, but contrary to the traditional point of view, the Taoist values(本) and Confucian values(末) have the same status. Second, when the Taoist values and the Confucian values collide and appear incompatible, for example, in the field of political philosophy or governance theory, the 末of Confucian values is supported. Third, in the end, Confucian values can be a universal orientation that fully represents the whole of the Tao(Truth), including metaphysics(形而上) and all other areas(形而下), while Taoist values appear as a biased orientation that is biased only toward metaphysics(形而上). Therefore, while aiming for the integration of Confucianism and Taoism in his perspectives on Laozi and Zhuangzi, Confucian values and Taoist values were not exactly the same. This can be seen as the result of various philosophical attempts as a Neo-Confucianist of the Song Dynasty, who was building a new world view for political reform of the Northern Song Dynasty and a new reading of the Confucian scriptures.
