Ti3C2Tx MXene modified via a hydrothermal etching process was employed as an electrode material for supercapacitors. Unlike the conventional HF-based method, this study utilized hydrochloric acid (HCl) and lithium fluoride (LiF) as a safer and less hazardous alternative for removing the Al layer from the Ti3AlC2 Mn+1XnTx phase. The crystal structure of Ti3C2Tx MXene remained stable even after delamination. Electrochemical evaluation revealed that the modified MXene electrode exhibited a higher specific capacitance of 274.87 F g-1 compared to previously reported Ti3C2Tx MXene. This study established a relatively safe synthesis route via the LiF/HCl hydrothermal etching method and achieved high specific capacitance and excellent electrochemical stability when applied as a supercapacitor electrode.
