The purpose of this study is to find out the rearing attitude of parents by life cycle of the developmental disabilities, and to verify the relationship between the challenging behavior of the disabled children according to the parenting type, and to apply the change in parenting pattern more effectively according to the growth process of the development disabilities. As for the research method, a questionnaire survey was conducted on parents who participate in parent education in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas, and parents who are active in groups of parents with developmental disabilities. The life cycle criteria of this study divided the ages of children with developmental disabilities into childhood, adolescence, and early adulthood. A total of 151 questionnaires were analyzed of ANOVA by life cycles in childhood, adolescence, and adulthood on parenting attitudes and challenging behaviors. The correlation between parenting attitude and challenging behavior was analyzed. The 8 sub-factors of parenting attitudes and challenging behaviors by life cycle were analyzed by regression analysis. Research results show that parental intervention and inconsistent attitudes in childhood are related to the challenging behaviors of children with developmental disabilities. In adolescence, parents' rational explanations, hyperexpectations, and achievement pressures. It can be seen that there is a relationship between inconsistent attitudes and challenging behaviors. In adulthood, it can be seen that the parents' punishing parenting attitude is related to the challenging behavior.
