연구윤리교육을 위한 윤리적 딜레마에 기반한 영상 제작법

Making Video for the Research Ethics EducationUsing Ethical Dilemma Cases* DOI http://dx.doi.org/10.62783/SHSS.8.1.44 Gyunyeol Park,** Wonil Choi,*** & Seunjoo Lee**** Abstract: This study aims to systematically explore and propose a method for producing educational animation videos for research ethics education using ethical dilemmas, with the goal of enhancing the effectiveness of such education. To this end, a literature review was first conducted to establish the conceptual foundations and educational significance of ethical dilemmas. Next, qualitative analysis and collaborative discussions among researchers were employed to develop dilemma cases appropriate to the context of research ethics education. In the dilemma development stage, a case-generation matrix was constructed based on research actors (graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and professors) and research phases (planning, implementation, and results), incorporating major domains of research ethics such as research integrity, conflicts of interest, and academic collaboration. Through this process, a total of nine ethical dilemma scenarios were derived. In the video production stage, general methodologies from media and communication studies were adopted, including storyboard design, animation production, pilot video review, and iterative feedback and revision. Each dilemma was produced as an independent short animation episode of approximately one minute in length. The final outputs were designed as stand-alone, dilemma-centered episodes that can be flexibly utilized as discussion materials and supplementary teaching resources in both formal research ethics courses and situational ethics training sessions. By presenting both the theoretical foundations and the practical procedures of dilemma-based video production, this study provides a practical framework for developing research ethics education content. The findings are expected to contribute to the advancement of research ethics education and to offer expandable applicability across diverse research ethics domains and educational contexts.
