When Baudrillard’s view has been substituted into Yoo Ha’s poems, it can been seen that commodity consumption has long given way the consumption of images for the fixation of the hierarchical differentiation promoted by capital power. It is said that modern people have fallen to the position to be excessively immersed in only hyper-realities, which are imaginary images, while being confined to the implosion of the extinction of realities due to consumption of the image signs imitating realities. Modern people’s orientation toward hyper-realities, which are more realistic than realities, made the actual existence of human beings disappear, and the only thing left to modern people can be said to be the images termed ‘Simulacre’. This phenomenon makes it possible to understand the human immersion in not only the consumption of commodities but also sex and violence in a similar context. The transformation and overproduction of images that are irrelevant to realities can be said to have led to the extinction of the signified irrelevant to the essence of objects by causing sex and violence to be consumed as manipulated images independent of the process through which human nature is expressed and controlled in social and cultural realities. As such, the breadth of the perception of ‘consumption’ can be expanded by overlapping Yoo Ha’s poems and the philosophical perception of Adorno, and this is regarded to provide opportunities for students to experience the fact that their imagination for appreciation of works can be diversified based on the perception of diverse values.
